We want to prepare our district for the challenges of climate change and protect our environment by planting more trees and unsealing paved surfaces. We will expand the public order office to better tackle illegal dumping.

To improve safety for all moving about in our city, we expand the 30 km/h speed limit network, improve the quality of sidewalks, close gaps in the cycling network, and speed up bus services through new bus lanes.
3. Vibrant Neighbourhoods – More Space to Live
We improve the quality of life and safety in our neighborhoods through better lighting, more green spaces, and additional benches, and transform local district centers into lively hubs for retail, dining, and culture.
4. Housing - Affordable and Sustainable
We are firmly committed to ensuring that Steglitz-Zehlendorf remains affordable for everyone, and to that end, we actively address vacant properties, expand neighborhood protection zones, and promote new sustainable housing.
5. Community – Together Instead of Alone
We develop strategies to combat loneliness and establish community canteens as well as more leisure, cultural, and educational facilities.
6. Schools – The Best Education in Modern Schools
We prepare our schools for inclusive learning through renovations and the expansion of school social work.

As a district that embraces diversity, we take a clear stand against racism, antisemitism, and discrimination. We support refugees in truly settling in through decentralised housing, language classes, and reduced bureaucracy.

We support the local economy through a “one-stop shop”, a central point of contact for setting up businesses, and by streamlining administrative processes.
9. Participation – More Say for Everyone
We create new participatory formats and advocate at the state level to ensure that everyone aged 14 and older who resides in the district is eligible to vote in local elections.

To handle emergencies effectively, we establish clear structures through a permanent crisis management team, rapid decision-making processes, and resilient emergency infrastructure.
