Modellprojekt autofreie verkaufsoffene Sonntage an der Schloßstraße

Für die Stadt der Kurzen Wege ist der Einzelhandel zentral: Wenn wir in der Umgebung unseres Umfelds einkaufen, zum Friseur oder zu anderen Dienstleistungen gehen können, sparen wir Wege, Ressourcen und kaufen auch nicht so viel online. Bei größeren Beschaffungen außerhalb des direkten Umfelds ist ein mit dem ÖPNV gut erschlossener EInzelhandel ein riesiger Mehrwert.
Gerade dieser steht durch Corona, Inflation und die Energiekrise aber vor massiven Herausforderungen: Durch die steigenden Betriebskosten, die sinkende Kaufbereitschaft und die Konkurrenz durch digitale Angebote steht das Gewerbe mehrfach unter Druck.
Insbesondere auch an der Schloßstraße hat sich das bemerkbar gemacht: viele Geschäfte in den Shoppingcentern stehen leer, werden oftmals zu Büroflächen umgewandelt und auch in der Straße selber gab es in den letzten Jahren immer mehr Leerstand.
­Rathaus SteglitzAls Grüne Fraktion aber auch als Ampel-Gemeinschaft haben wir uns im letzten Jahr deshalb darauf geeinigt, den Einzelhandel und die Wirtschaft am Standort zu stärken – und das unter anderem auch durch ein Modellprojekt für verkaufsoffene, autofreie Sonntage an der Schloßstraße. Die Idee: Mit einer Steigerung der Aufenthaltsqualität wollen wir das Verweilen in der Straße fördern und einen Mehrwert für die Geschäfte schaffen.
“Wir möchten den belasteten Einzelhandel in der Schloßstraße als Bezirksfraktion unterstützen. Mit dem Modellprojekt wollen wir Möglichkeiten prüfen, die Aufenthaltsqualität in der Schloßstraße zu verbessern, mehr Menschen zum Verweilen anzuregen und den Standort zu stärken. Das soll in enger Rücksprache mit den Gewerbetreibenden vor Ort geschehen.” , so Alexander Kräß.
Gemeinsam mit dem Nachbarschaftstreffen Steglitz-West, der Fraktion sowie den Zuständigen von SPD und FDP hat Kräß für die Fraktion die Konkretisierung dieses Modellprojekts vorangebracht. In der letzten BVV konnten wir als Zählgemeinschaft die entsprechenden Anträge schließlich einreichen:

Konkret wollen wir bis Ende 2024 gemeinsam mit dem Gewerbe zwei autofreie verkaufsoffene Sonntage an der Schloßstraße organisieren und zusätzlich während eines ganzen Wochenendes die Schloßstraße für ein Straßenfest sperren.
Uns ist es ein Anliegen, dass das Gebiet weiterhin mit Bussen zu erreichen ist und dass Kundinnen auch zu den Parkhäusern im Umfeld der Straße gelangen können. Die diesbezüglichen Detailfragen werden wir jetzt als weiteren Schritt in den zuständigen Ausschüssen und im Bezirksamt sowie mit allem weiteren beteiligten Akteurinnen klären.
